Homework for All Classes:
1. Story Map for “The Masque of the Red Death”
2. Graphic Organizer for “The Masque of the Red Death” – List 2 examples of imagery, 1 symbol, and 1 example of figurative language (simile, metaphor, or personification) and explain its significance in the story.
By tomorrow, you should have completed Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Masque of the Red Death.” You also have some annotations to complete for class tomorrow as well. I have attached the annotation symbol sheet for your review.
Periods 1, 2, & 6: Annotate “The Rooms” section.
Periods 5 & 7: Choose two pages to annotate.
Periods 1, 2, & 6: Choose a positive mood from your list. Re-write Chunk #1 of “The Tell-Tale Heart” in the style of your chosen mood.
Periods 5 & 7: Create an original, fictional protagonist. Write at least 6 sentences of a short story from his or her 1st person point of view.
Don’t forget about your Membean assignment (2 20-minute sessions by Sunday night)!
